picoChip Expands Operations in China

picoChip of the United Kingdom has recently announced two new additions to its operations in China. picoChip officially inaugurated an R&D center in Beijing, focusing on the development of TD-SCDMA and WiMAX technologies. Furthermore, picoChip expanded its existing partnership with WSPN-BUPT (Wireless Signal Processing & Network Lab, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications) by forging a joint 4G development program. The program will focus on the field of next-generation wireless air interfaces, and will cover wireless communications technologies including IEEE 802.16m, UMTS-LTE (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System - Long Term Evolution), and the 4G FuTURE project.
